COVID-19 Update:  The Beachside is open for business with some Covid 19 protocols in place.  Ron & Holly have both been fully vaccinated and are following all guidelines as set out by Alberta Health Services to ensure the safety of their guests and themselves. 

Until further notice, they continue to only accept one booking/bubble/family at time and are staggering the bookings so there is enough time to thoroughly clean and sanitize the rooms.  Ron & Holly look forward to welcoming you into their home when you are in the area.

The Cependas carefully selected the location to build their dream - The Beachside. They were excited to secure such a picturesque setting on Wapasu Lake – as it is the only spring fed, sandy beach, fresh water lake in a nature conservancy off the Yellowhead Highway from Lloydminster to Edmonton.

Wapasu lakefront is a terrific place for recreation or relaxation on a summer day. The nearby park has a cookhouse, picnic tables, fire pits, ball diamond, playground and horse shoe pits. The amazing sandy beach is ideal for sunbathing, sand castle building, a game of volleyball and swimming.

To pass the time away during the winter months, cross-country skiing, snow shoeing or just curling up under a warm blanket and sipping a cup of hot chocolate while reading a book are some of the activities awaiting you.

The scenic view from The Beachside's deck is always breathtaking! Many hours have been spent just sitting in amazement at the wonder of nature.

Wildlife and berries (see photo of saskatoons) adorn the edges of the + 13 km.walking trail.  If you are familiar with mushrooms - you might find a few edible ones along the trails or in the area. The lake area is an excellent area for bird watching – White Swans, Great Blue Herons, Bald Eagles, and numerous song birds have been sighted (one summer, almost 200 varieties were identified!). Many birds have nested in the yard & we have enjoyed watching the parents as they build the nests, sit on the eggs & then parent the young ones.

The Beachside is 2555sq. ft. accessible, home that was completed in June 2006.  It has three guest rooms with all the comforts of home IE: superb beds (single, double & king size) and bedding, ensuites with jacuzzi tubs, cots & playpens if needed, internet & wifi, access to common areas indoors or outdoors.(See the photo section for a peak at the rooms) 

Breakfast is served continental- style and consists of: fresh fruit, yogurt, hot/cold cereals, home baked goods, juice (made from local berries & fruit), coffee, tea, milk. If required, and enough notice is given, recipes can be adapted to accommodate dietary needs (Gluten-free; Keto; sugar-free; dairy-free; vegan or vegetarian).  Holly is well known for her creative recipes for jams, jellies, juices, muffins and buns.  You won't be disappointed!  

The Beachside is a great location for a special family occasion or an intimate get-away - for family fun or a romantic evening - Holly & Ron will make the occasion a special one!
